Guru Purnima: The Blessing of Mantra Diksha
JADAN, RAJASTHAN – Guru Purnima is more than a celebration; it is a day of new beginnings. One of the most sacred events at OM Ashram is Mantra Diksha, a spiritual initiation that creates a lifelong bond between the Gurudev and the disciple.
The Preparation for Initiation
The ceremony began in a quiet, focused atmosphere. The Gurudev’s successor, Param Pujya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shree Avatar Puri Ji Maharaj, carefully prepared the malas (prayer beads) for the new initiates.

The air was filled with a sense of deep expectation. Seekers from all backgrounds gathered together, ready to take their next step on the spiritual path.

Ancient Rituals of Light and Water
Every detail of the initiation follows ancient Vedic traditions. Devotees assisted in the ceremony, bringing the necessary sacred items for the ritual.

Receiving the Sacred Sound
During Mantra Diksha, the Gurudev whispers a personal mantra into the ear of the disciple. This "sound seed" is meant to be practiced daily through japa (repetition) to awaken inner peace and wisdom.

Gurudev's successor bestows a blessing and a mantra in the name of his beloved Guru.
The Joy of Spiritual Birth
The ceremony concluded with a feeling of immense bliss. The new disciples emerged with a sense of purpose and a deep connection to the lineage.

Mantra Diksha is a "second birth." It is the moment the light of the Guru truly begins to shine within the heart of the disciples.
