Special visit to Om Ashram

Visit of Mentally Challenged Children

On Monday, 1st of September 2014 we were privileged to welcome to our Om Ashram children and teachers from Model School for Mentally Challenged Children of Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur.

The joyful team arrived with flower garlands and hand-made presents for the Ashram. Children proudly presented their decorative colourful handicrafts: candles, envelopes and big shiny model of OM for the altar.

They were happy to learn about ashram and meaning of the sacred mantra OM. Children, their teachers and assistants went for a long walk through the ashram premises, paid their respects at Samadhi Shrine of Holy Guruji and admired the beautiful carving work at Om Ashram. Some of them offered to show their skills through beautiful bhajan singing.

As per ashram custom, they were treated to prashad – communal meal and expressed their appreciation for everything they experienced during their one day visit.

After having the prashad the children with the teachers left us a beautiful "Thank you" note.
