BEGINNING OF SUMMER: REACHING BOILING POINT IN JADAN ASHRAM GARDENS - APRIL 2017

Apart from 10 days with consecutive temperatures of 44-45 degrees celsius, we had a normal kind of April, except that there was an absence of late spring shower. And on the night of the 28th there was a display of thunder and lightning, and a lot of dust was blown around and through narrow cracks into rooms and basements – a specialty of this season.

JADAN GARDEN FEBRUARY 2017 - LATE WINTER AND EARLY SPRING: FALLING LEAVES AND DRY HEAT

This final month of winter to spring passed by with Vishwaguruji's arrival at the end of the month in mind. Many preparations were under way in the Shiv Bagh in terms of weeding and preparing the east to west channels in the centre part, into which we transplanted the marigold plants raised from seeds in the workshop garden.

JANUARY NEWS FROM JADAN ORGANIC GARDENS – MID WINTER IN THE SEMI ARID ZONE OF RAJASTHAN

This month we experienced some of the coolest temperatures felt in this part of Rajasthan for some years, and so it was good to have plenty of red beets to keep our blood red and warm! We also had the first rain for 5 months – on Indian Republic Day! which came gently in the early morning and then fell torrentially by midday. There were even some hail stones!
