Shardiya Navaratri Arrives at OM Ashram

With the blessing of revered Gurudev, His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramahansa Shree Swami Maheshwarananda Puri Ji Maharaj, we have joyfully celebrated the start of the Shardiya Navratri festival at OM Ashram.

To inaugurate the festival, Acharya Swami Rajendra Puri Ji and learned pandit Prateek Ji Ojha offered a sacred puja in the Shiva Temple.

They prayed to the Holy Mother Durga, seeking her blessings for the Hindu lunar New Year.

Navratri, meaning "nine nights," is a sacred festival honouring the nine forms of Goddess Durga.

The word "Shardiya" relates to "Sharad" (the autumn season), and this Navratri is celebrated in the lunar month of Ashvin (September-October).

This year's Shardiya Navratri began on September 22, with Maa Durga’s arrival on an elephant—an auspicious sign of peace and prosperity.
