Shiva Temple
This circular temple is devoted to Lord Shiva – the liberating force of all universes and is domed and painted white inside and out. The Shiv Arati that we sing in our guru lineage is written in dev nagari script on the outside of the entrance. Before dawn each morning fresh flowers are offered to the deities – to Lord Ganeshji and to Parvati – and to Kartikeya. A beautiful marble shiv lingam is the centerpiece and abhishek are performed during this time and throughout the day. All devotees who visit the ashram come here to worship and to have their prayers answered as they know that Lord Shiva is the most merciful among Gods. The floor of this divine structure is pure marble and 3 openings in the temple allow airflow. The acoustics inside is excellent for the chanting of Sanskrit slokas. On Mahashivaratri in the early spring each year we fast during the day and spend the night in worship of the Shiva lingam.
