White House

This magnificent domed white building stands next to our rainwater catchment area and has been since its construction the residential building for our swamis and female karma yogis of Jadan Ashram. It has several well-appointed and large rooms with spacious back verandahs which look out over the reservoir and a back garden full of native trees. The front verandahs have a view of our ornamental flower gardens. There are ground floor rooms for those with disabilities and there is a lift also for the convenience of bringing luggage up to the first and second floors. The rooms are en suite, and air-conditioned rooms or rooms with air coolers are also available. All rooms have ceiling fans and full bedding is provided. The rooms are tiled which gives them a cool feeling during the hot summer months and there are upper ventilation windows to ensure airflow.

This year the verandah pillars were all replaced. There was also work done on the roof – basic maintenance was necessary due to this building having been constructed in the early 1990s. It was one of the first buildings to be completed in Jadan Ashram.
