Diwali Satsang with Swamiji

Excerpts from Swamiji's Satsang in Jadan Ashram, November 3, 2013

The festival of Diwali is thousands of years old and comes from the time of Lord Rama. The Tree of Light is the witness of the devotion of the people who kindle the flame of wisdom, the flame of happiness, the flame of love, the flame of joy, and the flame of spirituality.

In the Upanishads it is said:
Lead us from darkness to light.
Lead us from unreality to reality.
Lead us from death to immortality.
Everyone should be happy.

These are the words of the great saints of thousands of years.

Diwali is also the day of the incarnation of our Satgurudev Bhagwan Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji. He is the incarnation of love and light, and his being on earth brought us the divine light and bliss.

As long as we see the rivers, lakes, seas, mountains and forests - the whole earth as sacred, we are to treat them with respect, love and awareness. The holy festivals like Diwali, Holi or Christmas will remind us to protect nature and love all creatures on this planet to lead a healthy and happy life.

This is the message and the blessing of Diwali.
